Week 28

This was a hard week. I hit a wall mentally with En Gedi, and felt
like I just kept hitting it all week.

It started Monday when I arrived at En Gedi and instead of
finding out the electrical inspector came, I found that the electrican
came ripped out half the outlets (leaving the ones I didn't ask for)
and rendering over the holes. They keep saying it has to be done
this way. I think its foolishness, and am tired of hearing the
excuses and justifications for doing things opposite of what I have asked for
, AND 6 weeks later still no inspector has come.

Now that she has made her hand print, she
likes to go and see if her hand still fits in it :)

Monday I also went to the tile place to pick
up the porch tiles that were supposed to be in
2 weeks ago. When I was told they should be in
this week....and through more questions found out
they were still on a container in port....
I then asked what tiles they had in stock, ready for
me to take with me now, so we could get the porch
finished.
The tile we got is not my favorite, but its what
they had, and the porch got tiled.
Right now thats all I care about.

I started laying out closet shelves design.

The walls around the tubs got tiled
 and the faucets were added
Now we are just waiting for the bathroom counters
The doors started getting holes cut out so
knobs can be added.
One of the things I love about this house is all the natural light
because of all the windows.

That came back to bite me this week, as I
went to install all the brackets for the
curtain rods.
Supports were added to the top of the kitchen
cabinets this week, to hold up the counters that
Lord willing will arrive next week.

 More furniture moved in.

Prep for the drive way has begun
The finishing touches of the exterior wall are just about done.

This week I gave the contractor a list of all the things that
need to be finished up, and a time line of 2 weeks to do it, and
encouraged him to pull in whatever extra help was needed to
get it done.
Prayers appreciated and I have a feeling these next 2 weeks
are going to be chaos.
Prayers also please that the electrical inspector comes and that
En Gedi is passed so we can fix back all the undoing thats been
done.
Thanks

Week 27

This week En Gedi was blessed with help from the
Basic Iowa team. This team worked SO SO Hard
this week. We were truly humbled by their willingness
to run along side us.
So much concrete was mixed by hand.
loaded in buckets, and wheeled around
En Gedi.
The walk way around the garage
 was poured.
All interior door frames, and doors
were sealed,
 sanded,

and stained.
The back porch has been primed
 and ready to be painted.

The slab was poured in front of the garage,

and in front of the porch
The team only worked a few hours each morning,
but they got an incredible amount of work done
in that short time.
And Neiah has now left her mark on EnGedi :)

Prayers appreciated as we continue to wait for the
electrical inspector to show up (we have been waiting
for over a month now), and for them to come and
take the final measurements so the counters
can be made.

Week 26

This week En Gedi got its exterior painted.

Our color options were limited with the red roof,
but I liked how this 'beach house' color turned out.
here you can see a little more of the true color when
its beside the new back porch, and the old color
of the house.
The outside and inside of the new back porch has been
rough casted
and rendered so hopefully next week it can be
 painted. and windows installed.
This other bathtub was brought over from JDV

and both were put in place.
Lord willing next week the tile will be added around
the tubs and the bathrooms should be about done!
Proper covers were installed on our drainage pipes
outside.
doors have started to be installed inside.
and we have a lot of supplies ready for next week.
We have a team from Iowa that has come the last
few years, and they asked if next week there was
a way they could be running along side En Gedi.
We humbly accepted there offer and so a group of 15
or so will be spending there week helping us pour
outdoor concrete slabs around the outside of
En Gedi.
Countertops were ordered this week and will take
a week or two, to have made and installed,
tile work around the tubs, countertops installed,
and a few more doors to hang up and En Gedi's
interior should be done.
Lord willing by the end of March En Gedi House
construction part will be finished!
All Prayers appreciated.

Week 25

This week there was a lot going on at En Gedi.
The top of the perimeter wall is being finished.
gutters were put on the house
down spouts that run into the drain.
door frames were made and put in
the finishing touches were done on the interior
painting, and a few things were moved in.
a steel box is being made to place
outside the gate to hold the garbage
new beds were delivered this week
as well as the kitchen cabinets
the counter company should be here this afternoon
to take the measurements for the counters.
the laundry room and closets were tiled
we knew we would be close on tiles so we
held off on a few rooms in case we ran out.
We were able to cover the floor and had 6 tiles left. :)
The back porch has been blocked up, and a decking
roof poured.

1 more week and the interior should be finished!
Continued prayers appreciated.
