Week 13

T
This will be my final 'weekly update' for a while. This morning
I handed off the project to Adrian and Ben (missionary at JDV)
for the next month as Neiah and I fly to the states next week.
This break will be welcome, but I am going to miss being apart
of the day to day changes and check ins.
This week they started to back fill the old septic
tank with stuff coming out of the house.

All the floors that were dug up last week to put in
the new plumbing pipes have been filled in and
repoured.
the master bath basically got a new floor poured
as pipes were added and the toilet and sink were
moved around.
The pipes for the kitchen sink were put in and the
floor fixed back.
all the electrical cuts were made.
the new boxes were put in and the wires pulled.
Now we are just waiting for the guys to come
put in the new ceiling so they can run the wires over
the top of the ceiling.
the electical box from the house to
the electric meter was put in,
and they started digging the trench from
the house to the meter pole.
the rest of the old windows have been removed,
and the holes have been modified to fit the new
windows.
the rest of the windows were installed on one side
of the hosue
and all the back windows were installed.
the steel grates (that were pulled off the outside of the
house to remove the windows), are being remodified,
strengthend, and will attach to the windows inside the house.
(so when you look at the house from the outside you
wont see bars on all the windows)
All the windows now in, and grates ready to be
attached in Neiah's room.

Please be praying for Sweet P, as she will be
going into tempory care when Neiah and I
travel to the states next week. She is not the
easiest baby, so prayers for a smooth transition
for her, and for all the aunties that will be caring
for her while we are away, would be appreciated.
Thanks

Week 12

Last week it didn't seem like a lot was happening.
This week it felt like so much was happening at
the same time.... such is life.

Plumbing went in this week.
A trench was dug from the house to the new septic

Old pipes cut out and new ones put in.
The side windows were pulled out and the windows resized
and new window wells rough casted and rendered.
back windows rendered and ready for windows
front windows put in and looking Awesome!
Electricians came this week too, and started cutting out the walls
to put in the new electrical.
The tile selected for the floor. My sister was nice enough to face
time with me, and so between us two, and the 4 kids that were on
the call with us we were able to find a tile.  :)
The closet wall was added in the "nursery room" giving it a smaller
closet, and giving us an added 3x6 foot area in the bathroom.

Prayers appreciated as this next week is the final week I will be
here before traveling back to the states for Christmas. Prayers for
wisdom as I try to get everything lined up at En Gedi for the few weeks
I will be gone. Prayers for the workers who will continue to work
while I am away.
Thanks. Blessings.

Week 11

This week it didn't look like a lot got done... but it did.
The final few posts on the exterior wall were poured.
Last week they started taking out windows and framing them
back up so the new windows can be put in.
All the front windows and one of the sides of the house were
pulled out and the windows were framed up and ready for the
new windows to be put in.
This week, tile was picked out.... then returned when I
started having to many doubts about my option. And then I was
able to find one (thanks to face time and help from my sister)
that I really like.
Also, Nigel and Ben came over from JDV to figure out the
layout of cabinets (and other wood furniture) that will be
needed at En Gedi.

Week 9

We now have a new Roof!
they started to rough cast the garage/porch addition of the house.
How the house looks from the gate.
(Once again I am SO thankful we decided to extend the roof
to over the garage too. It looks great!)
the front & inside of the garage/ porch rough casted.
most of the columns on the front wall have now been poured.
Walls started to come down inside the house.
the archway/ beam going in between the kitchen and dining room.
the view looking from the living room into the new porch/ garage.
looking out the front door into the porch/ garage.
the wall cut out between the kitchen and living room.
(just one more wall to get rid of!)
Thursday afternoon, we got a call from CDA asking if we could
love on a week old little girl. By Friday afternoon she was able to
come home with us. Prayers appriciated for Petrona (aka Sweetie P)
and her bio family.

Yesterday was family picture day at Church
so Sweetie P got her pictures taken too.

Blessings.
